Xinput devices are detected better (Though still may require some manual config modding). It's sadly a bit slower than the Mediakite version, but not by too much. In fact Sourcenext looks the smoothest of them all. Mostly for the FMVs which are absolutely top-notch quality. Sourcenext RE2 and 3 are legendary among PC crowds. Basically the same as the US release but in Japanese and slightly more stable. The Japan one is a good balance, faster than US and China, but fairly stable. It has also been the most unstable in my experience sadly. Just don't use texture filtering because the masks are bugged. If you use keyboard controls you can map those easily and jump right in though.

It won't detect an Xinput controller out of the box, and the in-game control mapper can be kinda bugged (Especially with Dualshock 4). You can boot it up without much hassle, even get a fairly decent resolution.

Luckily RE3's PC ports are all surprisingly robust and future-proof.
